A Present of Presence

A Present of Presence

When you open your gifts this year
I hope to be the first
That catches your eye, your heart, your mind
The One for which you thirst.

For when your heart came to My Son
Above your cry was felt.
He came to me with loving tears
As on His knees He knelt.

"Oh Father, give Your Spirit
To the one who pleads below
To comfort, enlighten and guide her heart
As closer to Us she grows

So, a Present of Presence I sent that day,
My spirit as a gift,
That all your heart would fill with Me
And your eyes toward me would lift.

Your gift is in your heart, you see
So unwrap Me everyday
And be My voice and My hands on Earth
In a loving, thankful way

What a great little poem. Shawn too has been sharing this same messsage over the past couple of weeks...presence vs. presents. I love that-"a Pressent of Presence I sent that day, My spirit as a gift..." That's the best gift I've ever been given!

What a great way of thinking not only this time of year but all year. I keep singing the song, I need the every hour...and thinking how that is used as an alter call song...but how much more is it a cry we should be making every hour of our day.
